Keith and I walked over to the pool. It was the first time we had gone to see it. We saw turkeys on the way. I love those turkeys. It was nice – kiddie pool and hot tub and cute palm trees in pots and an exercise room and a pool table room and ping pong table and more. I got in the water past my knees, then decided I really didn’t feel like swimming along, got out and sat with him in the windy sunshine. Pretty great.
We lingered on our deck again and plotted our day. We had a delicious meal at the Fish and the Hog in Waimea. I had the brisket salad, and I cannot go on and on enough about how good it was. The meat! The cheese! The marinated mushrooms! (Marinated in what, I’d like to know, so I can make them at home. Recipes should be on a QR code on the menu.) Everyone else enjoyed their meals, but I won. Keith had Chili Verde made with their smoked pork, poured over rice. We should try making that. Drinks were so appropriately a Blue Hawaii and a Maple Smash. Mmmm. There was giant cake and giant-er banana cream pie, too.
We shopped at the gift shop next door, then at the gift shop down the street and around the corner, then at the gift shop named after the lady who welcomed us in. I got a GREAT idea for a craft. I am excited to go home and try it and people will receive gifts. I think it is absolutely great that someday I will read this and wonder what the craft was…and have no idea. Teehee. I got blue light glasses that are wooden on the stems. They are super comfy, and I just got them because I think they are awesome.
We stopped at Subway to get sandwiches for tomorrow and Julie realized she didn’t have her cash card. It wasn’t in her wallet after using it at the first store. We searched the car while we drove back. No card. We drove to the second store and checked the parking lot and knocked on the window to have the owners let us in to look. No card. We tore apart the van looking under and in everything we have collected in there. No card. We started back to Subway, and I was digging through Julie’s wallet purse and found it in a super-secret heretofore unused slot behind everything else. No idea how it got stuffed there, but finding is so much better than losing.
