We never got a parade

Sunday, August 25, 2024

We lived on the corner of Oxford and Sherwood for 25 years and a parade never passed us by. Oh, passed by us. Because of construction elsewhere (everywhere) in town, the Woodbury days parade went right down our side street. We walked up and chatted with the man who bought our house, while we waited for the marching band to come by. They were 3/4 of the way through the line up, so we saw most of the parade. It was pretty nice – a good representation of Woodbury. I loved the band because I love marching bands.

It was forecast to be a HOT day, so we invited the guys over to pool. Erick, Daniel, Jeffrey, Johanna, and Adalynn came, along with Maren and Mollie walking over after the parade. Mollie was so cute hanging out with Adalynn – Keith’s favorite two girls! I was in the pool for five hours, and apparently that is exhausting, because I can’t stop yawning now (about 3 or 4 hours before I usually go to bed).

Keith and I convertibled (clouds and hot, perfect convertible weather) over to the other side of Minneapolis to go to the 21st annual driveway concert of Classic Brass – led by our friend, Lee (who lives in the house behind the driveway, too). It was just a beautiful evening, and we so enjoyed the big group gathered for the concert. Good job, Lee.
