A Double Dip Day

We went to Lyric Arts to see A Nice Family Christmas. I think I laughed out loud more at this play than at any other. It was Christmas Eve with a mom and her mom, two adult sons, daughter, daughter-in-law, and brother-in-law. Nothing in particular happened, but everything they said and did was hilarious.

We walked around in downtown Anoka, looking in little shops while killing some time before our evening show at the Parkway Theater in South Minneapolis at 8pm,

We ate at the pub next door to the theater. I had Buffalo chicken pasta. I liked it so much that I had to ask for a SPOON so I wouldn’t miss any of the sauce. Keith had a dirty soda – blackberry lemon syrup, cream, and Coke. It was good. We finished and paid and walked next door as the general admission doors opened. Our timing was impeccable for the Trailer Trash Christmas show.

Keith thinks fewer than 10% of the audience had not seen them before. So many people were VERY dressed for a trashy Christmas party. Women were wearing tree skirts and men had on Elf costumes. It was great. A lot of people were down front dancing. At intermission they handed out puffy “snowballs” about 2 inches in diameter. Our job was to pelt the band when they came back for the second half. We did and they returned fire. Snowball fight! The snowballs flew throughout the whole second act. Very enjoyable. They had old Christmas cartoons playing behind them – think creepy old Christmas (like creepy old Halloween, but not as scary). I wish I could remember songs they did. I do remember Rockin’ in My Christmas Underwear...but everything else is a blur.
