The title is not a comment about the picture of the day. It is the name of the musical we went to see tonight in Anoka. It is part of the series at Lyric Arts theater, and I knew nothing about it when we ordered the season. We had to reschedule because of an illness in the cast and as I was changing it on the calendar, I said to Keith, “I hope it isn’t like the movie Big Fish. I really disliked that movie.” He had no idea.
I looked it up. The internet said, “A musical version based on the movie by the same name.”
Hmmm.
Not a good outlook for me. I had low expectations. We stopped (as always) for a sammich from Erbert and Gerbert’s. There was a lady painting the windows for Halloween. She was just painting and doing a great job. I went out and talked to her. She had earbuds in (obviously. I would have them in too were I painting windows) and I totally disturbed her. She was very nice. I ended up saying very meaningful things like “wow” and “it looks really good.” I should never talk to people.

The show was good! It took a little while to break my suspicious anticipation, then it was all smooth sailing. People are so talented, aren’t they?

Now, to the other big fish in the picture. Today was a beautiful nearly 80 degree day, so I suggested we go swimming. No one was home next door, so we could sneak right in and they would never know. Keith agreed. After we moved, I truly never expected him to go into the pool again. It is a rule for him that he can only go in when no one else is around but me (his rule, not anyone else’s). I thought he was done with his swimming career. But no! He was right in there today, floating back and forth, saving bees that fell in, having a lovely time.

You didn’t like Big Fish? I’ve always been a fan.
I remember absolutely nothing about it other than I didn’t like it. I think I didn’t get it? I should rewatch because I liked the play
I think you should as well. It’s got Ewan McGregor being delightfully charming the whole movie!
