Blood and Brass

We started with Dracula by the Collide Dance troupe. Donna, Michael, EB, Keith and I went. It was spook-a-bunch. There was an intermittent audible narrator, but it was primarily just dance. At one point, we were watching the lovely “bride” dance before her wedding – up on her toes so beautifully – when thunder crashed and Dracula burst out of his castle. Everyone screamed, then laughed at how we screamed. Donna thought he was too creepy. He was probably mean in real life. The dancers were so talented – soooo limber and strong. We all enjoyed an afternoon of vampires.

We abandoned Keith to get ready for his concert and went to a great dinner at Hazelwood. Mmm.

Metro Brass gave a concert at The Grove Church here in Woodbury this evening. So many of our friends came to hear and support Keith. It is why Donna and Michael drove up. I just want to hug everyone who comes because it just means so much to me. Four friends from the “backyard” came!! All of the guys’ families were represented – including Daniel, new dad Erick, and birthday boy Jeffrey. Adalynn lit up and sang along with gusto when the band played Happy Birthday. I didn’t get a chance to get pictures of everyone. Sad face.

Alexander was dabbling in the Too Good Too Go app and said yes! to an entire cake from the bakery at the end of his street. He brought it over for after-concert sharing. He didn’t really care about the cake (if it had been yellow cake, he would have cared more), it was just so much fun to get it. We all enjoyed it.
