I took this picture when I woke up this morning – Keith mudding drywall. He is fixing the hole he made behind Benjin’s bedroom door while fixing the plumbing in March. That is why we have come to the south.

We headed for Nancy’s house after lunch and visiting with Benjin. Keith had the awesome idea to stop for custard before we got there. I pulled up the website to check the flavor of the day (banana pecan) and saw that they have something called a Custard Puff Sundae. OoOoOoOoO! I had it with banana pecan and it was SO good.

Dennis and Karen came for dinner, which was fabulous. We had corn on the cob, jalapeno cheddar brats with pretzel buns, fruit salad, and circle potatoes – with cookies for dessert. I said it was just a whole table of favorites or mine and it could be my birthday dinner – it was so perfect.
We had a significant amount of laughing. One of our topics was this persistent memory I’ve had of David (not present because he is motorcycling in SC. Donna is flying back from the Brewers’ game in TX) taking me to see the original Planet of the Apes at the Pix theater. When I checked to see how old I would have been at that terrifying movie I found I would have been 5. It doesn’t seem likely that it happened, but parts of it are so clear. I wondered where Donna was. I wondered where Dennis was. Dennis suggested he took Donna to an earlier show, since she was 3-and-a-1/2.
Dennis brought Circus Peanuts. I think it is the greatest texture of food. Nancy thinks they are weird. I texted Alexander this picture and he instantly responded, “But why, though?” He hates them.

We sure have a good time together. Lucky family.

For the record, it was TB that said that, not me. Regardless, I do agree; Circus Peanuts are so weird. “Let’s make them peanut shaped, but orange colored, but banana flavored.” Why?
Also, that supper sounds amazing. I might try to replicate sometime!
