Friendly’s

Jerry and Barbara have ice cream for lunch every Friday. Keith and I try to support our friends in all of their beliefs, so we scheduled lunch at Friendly’s restaurant today. Friendly’s is not available to us in MN or WI, so we go whenever we see one on our travels. They have always had Hunka Chunka peanut butter cup ice cream – vanilla with swirls of chocolate and peanut butter cups. As delicious as it is on its own, using it as a base for a sundae with hot fudge and peanut butter sauce is the best. They now offer it as a lava cake (with peanut butter filling) sundae. I knew I was not going to eat most of it, so Keith was completely supportive. He ordered a MEDIUM sized mint sundae and ate my entire cake and leftover everything else. What. A. Team.

Full confession – we had ice cream for dinner after Congaree last week. After we saw Friendly’s, I could not stop thinking about it. The sundae that day was out of control huge. It was NOT all eaten. Not even close. Today’s was more appropriately sized – no complaints – but here is a picture of the beast from last week.

Delicious.

  1. What’s better than a week with the Thompsons in Myrtle Beach? What a great time! We even got to the airport on time at 4:30 AM… Thanks for a super week!!!

  2. Not exactly the same, but when the children were little, we used to make sundaes every Sunday. Never should have broken that streak . . . Maybe we should start a new one. 💡
