Happy Birthday Keith

I wanted to share a few pictures of this beautiful house (with permission). The Mission style is my favorite way of houses. I now know that building so you are looking out at trees like you are in a treehouse is a great idea. Two of the sliding door sections open to bring the outside in.

We went to see Jakob Two Trees, by Danish sculptor Thomas Dambu. He uses recycled materials to make art installations. He hopes by doing that everyone will have fun and think of their trash as having value. That made me think of Alexander, because he has been using recycled trash to make art since he was very young. I think it is amazing what he can do with what he finds (barrels ♥️). Someday maybe he will be bringing joy to people with art installations like Thomas Dambu. There is a new (last year) installation in the Detroit Lakes area. We hope to visit there this summer.

The parking area by Jakob was filled with cherry blossoms. Who needs Tokyo?

Jakob was also near the Safeway, which we needed to visit to get a few ingredients for dinner. Keith and I love a new grocery store. Keith got some sausage for his birthday present from me.

That is not sausage. It is a balloon. We went to a chocolate shop and he got a small bag of chocolates for his present from me.

Mike made shakshouka for dinner – a new food for us! It is a dish of poached eggs in a sauce of peppers, tomatoes, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, and paprika. It was really good and quite delightful to try something new.

Kristine made a chocolate cake. We bought three ice creams (so on sale! limit three!). We all enjoyed dessert a lot.

Because they live “in the boonies” however TV comes here makes Kristine wait until the next day to see network shows. Keith has an Xfinity app on his phone that let Survivor fly out of his phone onto the TV. It was so much fun to watch with another person (I did the most talking about and to the TV. I hope the others liked it too).

We played four games of Flip 7 and each won once (Kristine won twice because one game had two over 200. We call that more winners).

I think we are the winners of this trip!
