There was noise upstairs this morning. That was surprising because as near as we can tell, we are the only ones in our building. Our first night there was a very shrill, loud woman next door. We contemplated calling the front desk to ask why in all of these many, many buildings with many accommodations in each were we next to someone at all? There aren’t very many cars – there are two in our parking lot. I could tell their TV was on and there were some murmurs from a man, but the lady was loud. We didn’t call. We said maybe they would leave tomorrow.
And they did! The car was gone and there was a bag of linen outside of their door. Ours was the only car when we got in last night and we heard nothing all evening. Very nice.
So, the noise this morning was not really loud, but kind of continuous. Keith sent a message to the front desk to ask if there was any construction going on. They said Yes! Sorry! No one is supposed to be staying in your building. Would you like us to move you to another room?
Mmmm. Loud lady was irritating. This was not. We said no, we’ll stay. They said okay, it will be done tomorrow. I guess we have the building to ourselves for a couple days. Nice.
We went to Five Guys for lunch because it was their birthday. (All five on the same day, I guess.) We got BOGO burgers and sat in the sunshine.
We left and drove down the main highway through Myrtle Beach. There are so so so so so many restaurants. So so so so so many pancake houses. Keith has his eye on Johnny D’s Pancakes and Benedicts. There are several of them, but one two doors down from our registration building. We drove all the way to North Myrtle Beach – HOME OF VANNA WHITE! I saw the sign. North Myrtle Beach is really beachy. Not that we could see the ocean from Ocean Blvd, but we could see all of the pedestrian bridges over the dunes blocking our view. I bet there was water on the other side.
Back at the hotel, we decided we needed to investigate the place. We walked down to the outdoor pool. It is quite nice. It was mid 60s today and sunny – I could have at least tried out the hot tub, but then I was nauseated and we had to walk home. (About a hundred yards) I was sick for hours and Keith played a game on his phone. I need to learn to eat smaller meals, I guess. I’ll figure it out. Keith mentioned today that our last three days in Anaheim last month were kinda our first do-nothing vacation days ever and he liked it. I will be working with him on doing nothing, since I am SO good at it, when we are home, but it made me feel better to know he was okay with doing nothing while I was sick.

Hoping you feel better right away – but in the meantime, doing nothing sounds REALLLLLLLLY good!!!!
Our expertise at doing nothing is really growing 🙂
Bunch of rocket scientists working the front desk there. Hope you feel better soon.
I am practicing doing nothing this winter in Florida. Getting quite good at it.
You got that right! Today was a much better day – we did excellent nothing. If you have tips, we’ll listen
