I cannot resist a sprinkler

I went to a first day of school potluck for retired teachers (which I am not, but I went anyway. Potluck! Friends! Yay!). Everyone made wonderful food (remember when I was talking about young people just coming without bringing to potlucks? It was a while ago. I don’t really remember, but I remember it was an issue of not enough to go around. “We” retired teachers are old. We bring the good stuff, and plenty of it). Of course, we hardly made a dent in all the wonderful offerings. When it was time to go, everyone was trying to give away some of their leftovers. I was happily taking pulled lamb and two different bars and fudge. I would have taken a ton of both of the salads but I didn’t have the right containers to take any. Hauling my taco dip, chips, and bowl, plus my lamb and plate of treats out to the car felt like I had a ton.

I would like more now, please. Next time, I am bringing some containers. I have so many containers. There was a tuna noodle salad that was so good and had lots of stuff in it. I want some now…

We went to see Freakier Friday. It was so good! I just loved it. I was so happy during the whole thing. We came out and the sprinklers were flooding the whole bit of grass and sidewalk north of the theater. I ran through it (me. running. Remember, only I thought I was running. Anyone watching was wondering what that chubby lady was doing, stumbling along toward the spray) and it was great. Now I am wondering why I only did it once.

  1. We got caught in the rain while kayaking. First there were a couple drips and we thought no big deal. Then the whole sky opened up and we got very wet while kayaking as fast as we could to home. The ride was relaxing and then exciting, so the best.

  2. What a lot of smiles came with today’s blog! And the POTD definitely looks like you’re running.
