Today’s POTD was sent by Elizabeth, and it far exceeded anything we took a picture of today. Look how cute he is.
We drove our car around with the top down today because it was 75 degrees out. On October 22. The year we bought our PT cruiser was the warmest fall and we were able to drive and drive and drive with the top down. We are so lucky!
We saw The Sound of Music at the Orpheum tonight. On our way there, I said I wasn’t a big fan of the stage play. It always felt not as good as the movie. I was wrong. Tonight’s show was absolutely stellar. There were a few small changes to the actual show that I really liked (Georg and Elsa broke up because she was okay with letting the Third Reich just have their way, instead of having Maria be the break up reason), but mostly it was about the performances. The kids were all just amazing. Georg was a terrific singer – and he sings quite a bit in the stage show. Maria was outstanding!! Her name was Charlotte Jenkins and she was an understudy. There was no announcement that she would be performing, so we didn’t realize it until Keith was looking at the program during intermission. Our Maria was black and the cast showed a white woman was Maria. Huh. We are so lucky, because I don’t think anyone would have been better.
