There was a hand lettered sign up in the media center for the book fair giving parents the opportunity to buy stuff for the teachers. I loooooove hand lettering. I loved the sign.
I learned a lot yesterday and staved off the hordes of kindergarteners from rushing at me by saying first, last, and in the middle, just raise your hand if you need help – don’t get up – just stay on the carpet. They did not raise their hand, they just shouted, but they did stay in their spots. Learning is so good.
When I subbed here one time last year I mentioned something about Keith building something or fixing something or something. The library ladies immediately asked if he could build them something for the refrigerator to sit on. They emphasized they really just wanted anything to get it up off the floor – suggested it was made of scraps from our garage. Keith eventually knocked a few boards from the garage together for them. He has expressed a little regret that it was a pretty crappy little stand. I had forgotten all about it until I saw it. It is marvelous. It puts the fridge at just the right height. Yay.
