It was 85 degrees today. I had to get out and embrace the last nice day ’til June. I thought a nice convertible ride would be great, so we contacted Mike and Mary to say we were coming over. It’s a bit over an hour so it would make a good ride, time for a visit, then time to go to the Lake Wobegon Brass Band concert. The principal cornet player called this morning to tell Keith that they were going with someone else for the Eb soprano chair, but thanks for auditioning. Of course, I was crabby. Everyone should love Keith as much as I do. He was much more calm – some times you win, some times you don’t. It usually comes down to who you know.
We only ended up with two hours to visit before it was time to go. That was not enough time. I know Keith really wanted to go to the concert to support friends in the band, but he decided we should just stay and visit more. Mary made steak fajitas – delicious. We were out the door just after 11. It was still beautiful for a convertible ride home.
I realized I had no picture from today about halfway home. Whoops.

It was also a terrific day for most of a final kayak ride today. Beautiful and sunny on the way out, lovely paddle in some backwaters. About halfway across the lake on the way back, the sky opened with a downpour of rain and plenty of wind. It’s always good to have a little excitement with every paddle!
Surprise adventure! Glad it ended safely 🙂
