Carla and I went to Joyer Farms to see sunflowers today. There were lots of fun activities for kids to do. We decided we didn’t know why we didn’t own a place like this, because we would love to think up fun ways for families to have fun together outside. I didn’t get any pictures (so, did it happen? Was it there?) because the wagon came right when we got there and rolled us out to the fields and it was raining (YAY! Rain!) when we came back in.
They plant 4 plots of sunflowers ten days apart from one another, so they have blooms for about 4-6 weeks. Today the first two plots were blooming. Our admission included being able to cut one bloom of our own choosing. Most people had little kids with them and popped into the cutting field and cut one in a couple minutes. Carla and I enjoyed looking at every bloom out there! What fun it was. There were several varieties, but we both ended up with a classic sunflower.

We dropped Lightning McQueen off at the Doyle’s because the grandkids are visiting from London. They are both a bit shy, so we left so they could enjoy without strangers staring at them. They both were waving vigorously as we drove away – I think because we were away!
We had a great visit with Jack yesterday. He is such a great guy!!!
