Our new refrigerator arrived today. The gentlemen delivering it did a fantastic job. They had to take the front door off and come through the house to get it in place. We shoved everything aside to make it possible, and I think we improved things. We got some root beer from the weekend in right away so we could toast the fridge as soon as possible.
I battled the washing machine all day. It leaves soap all over the clothes – lots of milky stains on the black clothes. I tried several cycles and temperatures and how many clothes in the load and dissolving the detergent before putting it in (I was using HE powder. I prefer powder because it comes in cardboard box, not a plastic jug) and nothing helped. The instructions SAY you can use powder. I followed the directions. The directions are crap. We finally went out and bought new soap. I had to rewash all the dark clothes. Twice. I was standing on my stool, because I am too short to get the laundry out without it, bending into the washer and the lid fell and hit me on the head. I was home alone so I yelled AS LOUDLY as possible, “G(@#$%@$% washing machine, I F!@)($U$%&*)@! hate you.” I gotta tell ya, it felt really good. I actually lost some steam as I finished yelling because I was feeling so much better. The last load – warm water -gahhh- and new liquid detergent -gahhh- finally worked on the light clothes. At least I couldn’t see stains of soap. Fingers crossed.
The sky was beautiful after brass band rehearsal in Red Wing. We luckily did not get all the bad weather that we were warned about.
