They are here!

Donna, Michael, and Nancy have been traveling since Saturday. They enjoyed a visit to Nashville, then Ashville with the Biltmore and the gorgeous Omni hotel.

The sisters went for a walk on the beach.

I made the boys not go with us, because they are not our sisters.

They did a big walk on their own. They did not get wet at all.

The water is so warm.

We watched the adorable pipers.

We saw this. What is it? We don’t know and didn’t even internet to figure it out. Keith said it looked like a sand dollar. We thought jellyfish, because it was gooey on top. Huh.

Since we are on the EAST side of the country, we don’t have sunset, but we got a pretty sky anyway.

We had dinner at Lulu’s – Jimmy Buffet’s sister Lucy’s restaurant.

The gift shop had a giant stuffie of a seagull eating a French fry.

There was a live musician we enjoyed very much.

Michael had his first shrimp and grits. He wondered if there was a Lulu’s closer to home so he could have it again some time. I told him Keith could take him on a tour of shrimp and grits he’s had around the US. It would take a long time. We ordered fried okra, because these folks had never had it. It seems a southern appetizer staple. It was a big basket and I thought we would never finish, or even dent, it. It was gone pretty quickly. Huh.

We had a great stroll around the shopping area on the intercoastal near Lulu’s. There were several hay bale sculptures – Frankenstein was definitely my favorite.

There was a bar with swings. Swings!

After we saw a sign that said feeding alligators is not only dumb, its illegal, Donna was concerned about nature. I was definitely keeping my eyes open – and I had a plan to jump up on the garbage can. She touched my arm and I jumped a mile. Her hood was keeping her safe.

We went to Kroger to lay in supplies for tomorrow. I thought we could have something to eat in the room tomorrow and Donna suggested frozen pizza. She said that’s what she’d make after a beach day. Perfect! I love it when a plan comes together.
