Carla called the other day to invite me to go to our local park for a concert put on by the local theater group. Unfortunately, it was rained out yesterday. I clicked around the city website for quite a while, looking for information about the show/rainout. When I found it, I found the list of shows for every Wednesday this summer. Tonight was Classic Brass – a brass quintet. Keith and Carla and I went. We knew the people in the group.
Sadly, when they started there were eight of us listening. Three came with the lead trumpet player (including his wife. It was their 48th anniversary. It is my sister’s 48th anniversary. What a coincidence), three were us, and there was one couple who actually just came. (I guess we actually just came, because we didn’t know we knew the players until we got there.)
A single lady came. Another couple came. A woman stood up by the building and listened for a while. A couple came with a very cute baby. They stayed pretty far back and the baby took her ear protection headphones off. A family with a second grader and a toddler came. Two more people came.
I hate when no one comes. The band members were not deterred and put on a good show. We enjoyed it a lot. They played the Canadian Brass Amazing Grace. Keith played it as my mom’s casket left the church. This is the second time I’ve heard it live since that day. I cried the first time – just bam! crying. I teared up tonight. Music is amazing.
I wonder how we can reach more people. Next week is a magic show. I will go to check out the crowd and report back.
It was the last day of school! I had a great day at Armstrong Elementary, my favorite elementary school.

Donna and Michael found the new troll in Wauwatosa! EXCITING!

Ah, the troll is cute. Glad they went. Does he have a name? Hmm now I wonder if he only makes boy trolls? I may have to go to the artist website and find out .
That is an interesting question. Maybe I should travel the world researching! 🙂
I went to his website. You can see all the names. Girl names and names that are unisex, I think ..
