I have been taking a new medication for three weeks. It slowly increases the dose every five days. I have increased my nausea every day. Yesterday was the first day of the full dosage. It has been kinda like being pregnant – feeling sick, more sick, less sick, trying to eat, feeling okay after eating, then more feeling more and less sick. I’ve been waking up at 3am to feel horrible every night for a couple hours. Wheee.
More than a month ago, we scheduled dinner at Bruce’s house. It was a little tricky to find a date, so I did NOT want to cancel. I may feel sick, but I’m not germy. Bruce remodeled his kitchen and we are the first guests to eat there. He pulled out ALL the stops – beautiful appetizers, a fantastic stuffed pork loin, and a delicious creamy dessert.
I explained that I have been feeling crummy because of medication, but eating helped. Then five minutes later, I went into his bathroom and threw up.
AAAAAUUUUGGGHHHH. So embarrassing.
Bruce and Keith kept visiting and were very reassuring that it was no big deal – they understood. Ummmmm. You guys are the best. I was able to eat very little of the food, but we stayed for hours (and I felt terrific for a while) and it was a really fun night.
I was sitting on the couch at one point and I looked down and both of the big toes of my socks have holes in them. Seriously.
