Shucked

I’m happy to report that we went to the Orpheum to see the musical Shucked and we got Keith’s coat back. It even had his hat and gloves in the pockets. The night he left it was one of the first nights I started taking the medicine that has been so difficult, and I left early because I was sick. He hurried out after the clapping started and left the coat. He has gotten a lot of compliments on his Lightning McQueen coat, so I don’t know which he will wear now. Time will tell.

I did not take the medicine last night or today and am happy to report I am happily eating Saltines right now and felt really good at the theater tonight. No need for anyone to lose their coat.

The show was about corn. Corn is Keith’s favorite food. He likes it on the cob and off the cob and made into syrup. Corn is king! It definitely was in Cobb County in the play. It doesn’t even matter what the plot was – it was so full of one-liners, puns, sight gags, and whatever else is funny. I laughed out loud, but more surprising, Keith laughed out loud – a bunch of times. Corn and comedy! What could be better?*

  1. I had somehow never heard of “Shucked” and looked it up. Looks like the puns extend to their publicity, which labeled it a “farm-to-fable” musical comedy. I’m so glad you’re feeling better, and would bet that the “laughter therapy” helped.

    1. I knew nothing but that there was corn on the poster. I feel confident that you would really enjoy it, if you get the chance.
