You never do it all

It was another 35,000+ step day and still we didn’t come close to doing all the things we wanted to do.

We started our day out with TWO rides on the world-famous ride during which you die and go to hell – Mr. Toad! The line for Peter Pan was a hundred people long, but we went for the Toad! It was so good, we had to go back. There was no line. We jumped on Pinocchio and Snow White (note: there are no scary trees here in CA, so it is good, but not Magic Kingdom good).

We had completely missed Star Wars land the first day and chose to ignore it yesterday, so today was the day. I figured there was so much else to do in Disneyland v Hollywood Studios in FL that beyond the few diehards of the day, Rise of the Resistance would not have much going on in the morning. Was I ever right. Most of Galaxy’s Edge was empty, but Rise was pretty ridiculous. We had a group with us during the preshow (that we walked right up to), then Keith and I were alone. We had our own transport for the ride. I got to yell along with the story line – Nooooo! Yesss! Pew Pew Pew! Kylo Ren I will defeat you! – you know, the standard stuff you have to keep in your head so as not to bother others. It was pretty great.

We walked by the Haunted Mansion on our way to our first LL at Indiana Jones and no one was in line, so we jumped in. I love the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. The song gets a little crazy in your head. I will not sing it here, so you will not have to have it stuck in your heads.

Jungle cruise remains walk-on-able. I don’t understand why. It is just the best. Today we had a Dollar Store Alexander as our skipper. He was absolutely terrific. He didn’t do any of the other day’s guy’s jokes – all new. I thought his delivery was just as Alexander would have done it. It has always been Benjamin’s dream job, but Alexander could do it well.

Do you see those tall ones in the back? What are they? (giraffes?) No. They’re trees.

We were walking up to Toontown and the band showed up. Always our pleasure.

We went on Roger Rabbit – which is a dizzy-ing ride that ends up with you going through a hole in the wall. It’s hard to explain, but I like it. We walked out and had our picture taken. Look at that cute little skirt (little! Ha) I am wearing. I found that right out of sister Nancy’s drawer last week when I was visiting. Visiting and looting are more similar than you might think. But I digress…

Look! It’s the one that got away. I have been remembering the submarine ride and then forgetting about it over and over. I was SURE we would go on it today, but we did not. Time ran out. Silly us. That is just bad planning.

We hopped over to do a Guardians before lunch. I kept smelling fried chicken and looking for it. I found it at Flo’s. I was all in on the fried chicken. Then I thought of Tony Roma’s and the chicken Keith had the other night. It was the same price as Flo’s in the park, but known to be breast meat, abundant, and includes excellent green beans. Flo’s. Tony’s. Over and over and over. I finally just burst out with a decision – Tony’s! (It might have been Keith with the bursting idea. I can’t remember) We left the blazing sun (94 degrees at that point) and went to Tony’s. I saw this great Oogie peeking on our way out.

It opened at 3pm. It was 12:30. We went back three buildings and went to Denny’s. I ordered the 55+ country fried steak with so so so good mashed potatoes and a very good salad. Keith had fried chicken and gravy. It was so air conditioned and our waiter just kept bringing glorious glasses of water filled with ice.

Then we napped. Can you tell when?

Back at the park, we rode monster Guardians. There is so much to see I could ride it again and again. That and the elevator dropping us a bunch of times. We slung some webs with Peter Parker.

We played Toy Story Mania and Keith beat me for the first time! He also got the highest in the car and the highest in the hour for the first time ever.

We walked down Pixar pier and found two amazing characters out and about. Wow!

We had stacked up four LL back at Disneyland for the evening, so we headed back. Check out these ears from the Walt Disney history area.

Keith decided that his favorite Disney treat of all time is the pineapple upside down sundae. It even beat Toffee, which makes no sense because nothing beats toffee.

We came out of the Haunted Mansion and there was a Halloween show going on on the Rivers of America. I am not good at the app. We never know what is happening.

The park closed as we stepped out of Indiana Jones for one last time. I cannot believe that track is the same as Dinosaur – there is SO much happening. I look forward to seeing it in Florida when it gets there.

We left the park and I turned around and took one last picture. Then we hobbled home. I wonder if we stayed a few more days if we would break entirely and start to build up some stamina. I guess we won’t know – the plane is at 1:18pm tomorrow.

Indiana Jones is the same track as Countdown to Extinction? Huh. Who knew?
