Bruuuuuce

I had so much fun freaking 6th graders out today…”then I woke up in the middle of surgery!” (Okay, I made sure they weren’t really freaked out). We also did decimals and percentages and fractions. I sang a new song I wrote about not being afraid of fractions. I wish I could remember it now. It was a fun day.

Tom and Louise and Keith and I went to see the Bruce Springsteen movie today. It has a name, but I don’t know it. I am a lifelong fan, but I wasn’t sure about seeing The Bear pretend to be Bruce. I saw some stills, and I thought he looked pretty good, but I wasn’t sure. It ends in theaters Thursday and suddenly I really wanted to see it in the theater. I liked it. There were a couple moments that Jeremy Allen White turned into Bruce and that was fun. I mostly thought of the character as that – a musician character who writes music I like – not as Bruce or as The Bear. Louise said she didn’t know any of the music from the Nebraska album. I think that is fair, because I don’t know any Prince music (that she knows and loves). We stood in the hall after the movie and talked a long time. What a nice day.
