There are a gazillion restaurants here. Choosing what you would like to eat and where to get it is a little bit of a challenge. We agreed we would like to have lunch. The next step was harder. Barbara remembered seeing a place as they came into town that was Something Pig – it intrigued her. We googled and found the Gracious Pig. Reading the menu was enjoyable, so the decision was easily and quickly made. Both Keith and Barbara were enticed by the fried bologna sandwich (with pimento cheese – which according to Barbara sounds awful on a hamburger and wonderful on bologna. I was looking forward to tasting the creation). It was no longer on the menu! Oh, sadness. They pivoted to other fine choices. Barbara ordered the appetizer of smoked cauliflower. I thought (but did not say) nope, no cauliflower for me. She said she likes it lots of ways, but had never heard of/had it smoked.
It came and was crazy good. There was a dipping sauce that was fabulous, but it didn’t even need it. What? Cauliflower? I ate most of it in a very un-sharing way. Gobble gobble.
Naps happened and were wonderful.
It was stupid cold here today – high of about 40. We were mostly in, but Barbara decided she would like to buy a sweatshirt to add to her layers for the next couple days. We stopped at Walmart because it was near and seemed the perfect place to get a necessity sweatshirt. Nope. It was solely a grocery store. Huh. New to us. We needed a few things and the four of us wandering around, slowly deciding what we might need reminded me of a movie interlude that the good guys take while thinking they are safe while running away from the bad guys. I don’t even know how to explain that more, but it was a very pleasant grocery store trip.

We went to a beach wear shop and immediately found the full-zip sweatshirt of requirement. Huzzah. I wandered a bit and came back to see the three of them huddled. Keith was playing a little game full of water that you push the button the try to get the rings to land on the stack. It was briefly very interesting.

To finish the day, we played games and watched a Cory band concert from 2021 on the TV via the computer. Fun was had.

I remember making roasted cauliflower when you were visiting in New York that you were, shall we say, hesitant about, and ended up liking very much. ♥️
FACT!!! I definitely need to have a better attitude about cauliflower
I had Too Good to Go from Fresh India once that included a big portion of Chicken 65, which I am very fond of and it was very delicious. It wasn’t until the penultimate piece that I realized it was actually Gobi (Cauliflower) 65! It fooled me into thinking it was chicken until there was one piece where reading had come off enough to recognize it as cauliflower.
I’d been verrrrrrry skeptical in past about those “make these faux boneless buffalo wings out of cauliflower and nobody at your Superbowl party will tell the difference!” recipes you see pop up every now and then, but honestly, they might be on to something.
We should try some sneaky cauliflower recipes!
