Happy Birthday, Keith

I was expecting to work at a school closer to my donation site, so I had to fly out of school in record time to make it to the YMCA to donate blood. I made it right on time. It turned out that I was the last person scheduled for the day and they were cleaning up while I was dripping blood. They told me that I should take as many Girl Scout cookies as I wanted, so they didn’t have to carry them back to the van. I demurred several times, but they insisted, so Keith got about $500 (I haven’t kept up on prices) of cookies for his birthday! He could NOT have been happier. He had lemonade cookies for dinner before we went to see the musical version of Grumpy Old Men. The trumpet player was a little off and the mics were too hot, but the show itself was really good. I guess we don’t see too many shows that actually have caring relationships, so I felt really invested in the story. The wedding dress at the end was fabulous. I want it.

    1. It’s not so much where as when. This time last year they were giving everyone a box of cookies at two places I went in a week (failed iron the first time). Now I know to schedule the last spot!
