I knew she’d wear yellow

I had a spectacular pool day today. Christina and the boys came down from the north and we chatted and chatted and all swam and played basketball and floated and played with squirt guns. I loved getting blasted in the back of my head and William was glad to oblige. We heard the mowing neighbor last night – but he stopped very quickly. We joked it was because he was waiting for people to be out on the pool deck, because that seems to be his time to mow. Sure enough – he mowed through the middle of our visit. Death and taxes and that guy mowing!

Maren and Mollie joined us for Tono because their boys are out golfing. Fun! Mollie is so cute and fun to be with. They watched Father of the Bride later and one of them thought the phrase in holy mattress money, which Benjamin is going to include in his next wedding officiating. Love it.

Keith and I went to the touring Broadway Beauty and the Beast. It must have been a terrific production, because it never lost my attention for a minute. (How many times have I seen the show? How many times have I seen the movie?!) Belle was the stand out voice of the night – wow. She could definitely Defy Gravity with the best of the Elphabas. There was new staging for Be Our Guest – far fewer adorable utensil costumes, but it was glitzy Vegas and very pleasant to watch. Human Again had an idea for the choreography that they kinda goofed up, in my opinion (and Christina’s. They vacationed in Chicago last week and saw the same traveling show). When the beast was getting fancied up with his dinner with Belle I was suddenly struck with the premonition that she was going to wear yellow. TRULY. LIKE I DIDN’T ALREADY HAVE SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THAT. She came out (my favorite dress of all the versions I’ve seen) and I was thrilled to have gotten it right. YELLOW! Woohoo me.
