Today was our packing day. We leave for vacation Friday and have guests coming tomorrow. We needed to get it done!
I wrote notes and stuck them on the computer so I wouldn’t just play Solitaire all day. It worked…most of the day.
Alexander came for dinner, to help empty out the refrigerator.

He found a napping spot after dinner that allowed him to sleep on his tummy. He likes that.

We got into the packing after he left. I folded a couple things, I walked back and forth, I read the packing list, and I thought many of those items were great ideas to take along. I tidied up the bedroom so we could just pack and pack and get it all straight. I found a cardigan that has been sitting on the dresser since school got out, waiting to be hand washed. I thought, “Do it! Do it now. Get it done.”
I started running water in the bathroom sink and swished around some detergent. Then I just walked away. Water running. Sweater on the edge of the sink. I didn’t think, “oh, I have to get something,” or “I will be right back to turn this water off.” Nope. Not me. I just walked away.
MY BRAIN STOPPED apparently
I think I went and played Solitaire. Never gave the water another thought until I wandered back to packing, walked into the bathroom, and saw this!!!!

AAAAAUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHH
Water was everywhere – in the cabinet underneath (two cups under there were conveniently filled with water) – in the drawers – covering the counter. Puddles kept forming on the sides of the cabinet even after it was initially wiped up. All because my brain stopped. Because I just walked away. Just walked away from running water. Taps on full blast. Tiny sink. No overflow drain hole thing.
AAAUUGGHH

Sounds like you need a vacation. 😁
Or two!!!
