It’s Still November

It’s still November but we were standing in front of a beautiful Christmas tree at the Ordway. They had a staff member there just to take pictures. How thoughtful. I took Keith’s picture first, then realized the line had disappeared, so we got the two of us. (Look! We managed not jeans and T-shirts)

Rice Park, across the street, looks beautiful. It has a big tree shaped screen that plays music and does a light show every 15 minutes. It did its thing while I was waiting for Keith to park the car. It was really pretty. Not a single person who came into the Ordway during the 5-6 minute show glanced at it. They were all chatting with their people, completely oblivious to it (apparently). They missed out.

We saw The Notebook (the musical). It was really good. I don’t know if we ever saw the movie, or just have seen clips. Neither of us remembered it at all, so I am guessing no, or we just forgot. Middle Ally’s last job was Eliza in Hamilton on Broadway, so she was great. Young Allie was the best, though. The sets were cool and seamlessly integrated the different timelines. Good show – and quite different from last night’s Phantom.

The wind picked up even as we walked to the car. It was raining and we were adorably under one umbrella. As we crossed the street to our parking garage, we both saw the first snowflakes. By the time we pulled out, it was snowing for real. It was in the mid-40s today, so it doesn’t seem possible that it will stick, but it was accumulating on cars by the time we got home. I guess Christmas is on its way.
