I went to Jean’s backyard today for a gathering of former Woodbury Junior High employees. It was delightful. Jean had taken snacks to a church activity yesterday and wanted to serve us leftovers, making sure that we knew we were not leftover people. I was delighted to be a leftover person. The buffet of treats was custom tailored for me. The polite people filled a small plate. I went back for peanut butter pretzels six times.
Just as we got to brass band rehearsal in Red Wing, Louise sent a text inviting us to watch a movie in their backyard. Darn. We were missing out on a second backyard activity. The band sounded really good. There is a concert in the park Wednesday, which is likely to be rained out. Rehearsal finished a little early and we stopped at Tom and Louise’s to catch the end of the movie. We got there just before Brody thinks they need a bigger boat – the best part! We watched to the end and it was still really good.
