May the Fourth Be With You

Monday, May 4, 2026

It is great fun to be around Star Wars people on May 4. There were lots of cute shirts, but actually not as many as I expected. We didn’t try any of the SW trivias because beyond the original movie, I know nothing. We showed up for a drawing class early and listened to the answers – it seemed like everyone was shouting answers and it was great fun. I knew none.

We drew BB8. Lots of circles. They don’t seem to do a good job of anticipating how many people are coming to their activities because we were in a little room with tiny tables to try to draw BB8 on Star Wars day. To say there were a lot of people there would have been a grave understatement. We sat on the floor in front of the little stage and used it as a table and it worked out fine for us.

They had an open house at the oceaneer”s club – day care. While Keith walked his laps around the boats (5 today) the ladies went to visit. It was very cute.

This evening’s show was called The Golden Mickey’s. It was a takeoff on the Oscars, giving awards for best couple and best original movie and songs and all the things. We all know that Disney has done a great job with all those things so it was really fun. As expected, they really know how to put on a show.

Keith and I made an animator cell before dinner. We each got a transparency sheet and chose a picture to trace with a sharpie. Then we had to turn it over and paint it. It was harder than I wanted it to be because the brushes were too big. Keith picked Mater which was very complicated and he didn’t have any time to paint.

Dinner was in the third restaurant of our trio – The Royal Palace. It was formal night so we all wore a dress and Keith wore his cute long sleeved Disney shirt. We were so busy eating and talking that I forgot to take any pictures. Kristine remembered to take a picture of the cute napkin.

I am frantically trying to finish this before our 24 hours is up. We had a big bunch of time late this afternoon that nothing worked so that got us behind. The adult only version of the ventriloquist act is starting in 15 minutes and we need to be done before that. It was a good day. See you tomorrow.

The internet is working very poorly, so this is all of the pictures in one place and out of order:
