Happy Cinco de Mayo! And Happy Anniversary to Donna and Michael!

Someone stole my Mickey cel painting.

Notice that paragraph break? That was to give you time to adequately feel the appropriate outrage. We went last night to pick it up from where we hung it to dry and it was gone. They looked all around. I didn’t even really get a good look at the front. Darn. And oh well.

We got up before noon! We met Kristine and Julie to draw Olaf at 9:15. I was actually up, ready to roll from 4:30-7:30. Stupid not sleeping. Olaf was HARD. It was Julie’s first try at drawing. I don’t have a picture of hers, but I really thought it was just fine. Mine makes me laugh – that’s Olaf’s job, isn’t it?

Kristine and Julie went to exercise. Keith and I played Disney Food Trivia. We played with some lovely Brits, but only got 13. It was a good quiz – lots of second guessing and wondering. We went to shower and napped instead. Keith went to draw Captain Hook while we pondered whether we wanted to get changed for riding the water raft ride. We ultimately decided we were too lazy and read on the deck instead. Keith’s Hook is terrific!

The ladies read on the deck and watched the loooooong rolling waves. The boat was rolling a bit and the waves were so very cool to watch. Keith came down and walked 6.5 laps before he needed to use the restroom.

We went early to draw Groot and ran into Bluey and Bingo. I hear someone small in our family is now called Princess Bingo. I thought it was because she liked playing Bingo, but apparently not.

We hustled to the next room for general trivia right after Groot. A lady that we had drawn Olaf with and who we ran into at lunch asked if we would play trivia with her. Julie and Kristine insist they know nothing and don’t need to play, so I said Keith and I would abandon them for Kim and John. When we arrived, they were all set up with others on a couch, so we settled on the edge of the stage. Julie – hip replacement coming about June 10 – and Kristine – knee replacement coming June 4 – sat on the floor to make a better circle of team. Talk about taking one for the team! Julie knew the answer to the first one (which celebrity is godmother to both of Elton John’s kids?) and we did not!! Wooooohoooooo. For the most part the questions were pretty straightforward, and we thought there would be a big 20/20 tie. Turned out our 17 was good for the four-way tie! The tie breaker was how many little squares are in a Ben and Jerry’s waffle cone. We had no idea how big one of those is, so I wrote down 313. Kristine said she thought it was fewer, so I wrote down 213. The answer was 258 or maybe 285, but we would have won either way! 128, 450, 600, and us! Winners!!!

Greta Salome, from Iceland, was our show performer tonight. She is a singer and violinist. She said she worked on the music for Eurovision Song Contest (movie) from which the song I really like (Husavik) is from. I took her picture singing it. Everyone go and listen to it now.

We had time before dinner, so we played Flip 7 up on deck. We came through one side of the buffet, and it was closed. I checked the times and found out it is not open for dinner. The only options if you don’t want to eat in the dining room are from the pizza stand or the burger/dog/nugget place. That blew our minds. It was so unbelievable that I had to walk down to the other side of the buffet to see for ourselves that it was really closed. Their lunch hours (noon-2:15) already seemed restrictive. Disney might be losing the cruise line battle!

Dinner was back in Animator’s Palette. The theme tonight was Finding Nemo. All the screens were tanks and the Nemo gang showed up and played games and entertained us. Crush talked to Julie and Kristine – just like he does at Turtle Talk in the parks. It was pretty great.

I finally had the nerve to ask for a Mickey bar (from the children’s menu) for dessert. 🙂

The late-night show was Blake Vogt, magician and mentalist. His deal is he makes up magic tricks for other magicians and is now out touring on his own. He was a magic consultant on the Now You See It movies, and taught Paul Rudd magic for Ant Man and the Wasp. He is the magician on the computer screen Ant Man is learning from in the movie. The show was amazing! He will be back for a regular famly show later in the week.

I don’t know what our towel animal is. Keith said a peacock with its tail down. I said nooooo. I am so judgy. Now that we’re looking at this picture, it seems to be pretty clear that it’s an anteater.

I can see either the peacock or the anteater. What I thought first was a dinosaur wearing saddlebags, but now I really like the hiding elephant.
