I looked at the pile of scrapbooks in the craftroom-to-be and immediately went to the computer to check Facebook Marketplace for a shelf. I have looked a couple of times and didn’t find anything appropriate. Today I did. I sent a message, guy wrote back, Keith texted Tom-with-truck, Tom said I’ll take a shower and come over, and off they went to Coon Rapids.
That is when the fun started. The shelf is 80 inches tall and 55 inches wide and 18 inches deep. And it is a beast of solid wood – the heavy kind of heavy. They had to work hard to get it out of the old house. If it had been an inch wider it wouldn’t have fit straight in the truck.
Then they got here. There was a lot of measuring. There was more planning. Then heavy lifting. There were Y-turns done in the halls. Tip tip tip push lift turn tip turn slide lift tip and IN!
I love it. Keith said if I don’t love it, it doesn’t matter, this is where it now lives.

A perfect fit and it looks wonderful. Great find!
It is fun how that works out, isn’t it?
It is perfect! I love a Marketplace success story!!
Isn’t that the truth?!
WOW! I think it looks just perfect – what a nice piece of woodwork, and it has DRAWERS!!! Excellent… The “heavy” part is obvious – definitely “the real deal.” Hope no one is worse for the wear….
It is so much nice than just a plain bookcase. The drawers are big enough to be useful, too!
Little drawers!!!
Nothing better than drawers!
