Orange

The ventriloquist on the transAtlantic cruise had a very funny bit about orange, so I am hoping that the title today already made Kristine and Julie smile.

We went to see The Invite late this afternoon. We were almost there when I looked at Keith, then said, “Hey! We’re both wearing orange.” You’d think I could have noticed that earlier.

The movie was amazing. There are only four characters. Aside from a brief scene at Joe’s work at the beginning, the entire movie takes place in an apartment. It was like being at the gathering. Sometimes I was just cringing and feeling so awkward – like I was there. I laughed out loud – and was delighted that other people in the theater laughed with me. Spending the evening with the four people felt very, very real. (I was very surprised it was still daylight when we left the theater – how could that be when it had just been so late and dark in the movie?) It was so interesting to me because if you were to have people over for several hours, you would never just talk about one thing, but it seemed so interesting and surprising that the movie just kept going from topic to topic and got deep into things, then veered away. Most of the topics completely surprised me. I’m not sure it is everyone’s cup of tea, but I really liked it.
