Some good and some not so much

We were at Collide theater a couple weeks ago and I noticed the guy next-to-me’s shoes. He showed them off and told them he has them in every color now. I checked them out online and we ordered some for Benjamin, because Benjamin likes shoes (and we like to buy things). They came yesterday and Keith was practicing them to our show tonight. They are called Suavs and they pull on like socks. You don’t have to wear socks with them (or so they say. Keith did because he was). I think they are super cute and Keith said super comfy. Win.

We stopped at Alleycat’s Gourmet Sandwiches for dinner on the way to a show. We shared a Market Club sandwich, tots, and a cup of soup. SO GOOD.

The show was not good. The set was steps to a balcony and some red, sheer curtains that made quite a bit of noise when they were repeatedly pulled from side to side. The orchestra was really average, except maybe for the trumpet player who was sad. Okay, the trombone player was too. The costumes were straight up weird. Not funky weird, but just ugly and confusing. Women in Vegas show girl outfits (without being sexy or cute, just kinda pathetic) and guys in jeans and tees. The acting was generally just LOUD with wild gesticulating. The singing was bad. Keith wondered if the main character’s big song was intentionally atonal to show her character was odd. We listened to a recording on the way home. (Nope) Two male characters were just medium bad, so there was that.

Intermission started and Keith said, “Do you want to go out and get something to drink? Are you thirsty?”
I replied, “Do you want to go home because this is awful?”
He laughed so hard.
Then we went home.

  1. Now the real question is, do they make those shows in women’s? You’ll have to get some and let us know.
