We had sammiches because I was craving one. I asked Keith if he wanted to split a second one and he said yes. I asked him what he wanted on it, because I like more things than he does. He suggested I just cut the roll in half and we each make our own. He’s so clever.
Just after we finished, the doorbell rang. Maren, Liam, and Mollie were standing outside (in the 93-degree heat with a dewpoint of 77).
“We’ve come to play games.”
Is there anything better than that? NO!
We played Flip 7, Wavelength, and Spots (and Wavelength again and again and again). Liam left (because friends), then zipped back in an hour later and said, “Can we use the weedwhacker? We’re going to make a club house.”
Maren said, “Noooo!” I asked, “How does a weedwhacker fit into the plan?” Maren said, “NOOOOOO. Go away. No weedwhacker.”
She carefully watched the boys bike away, without weedwhacker. I still want to know the details.
It was a great night.

My doorbell rang today, too! I was painting in the craft room at the time and wasn’t expecting anybody, so I decided not to go to the door, thinking if it was actually someone I knew, they’d be more insistent past one ringing. They didn’t continue ringing, so I figured I didn’t miss anything relevant.
Found a Jehovah’s Witness brochure in the door later. So I was right, but also, poor JWs walking around spreading the good word in today’s weather. Uffda.
Poor folks indeed. There was no Jungle Cruise or Haunt Mansh to get to, so I did not get at all
