Keith went to wait at Alexander’s for the new laser to be delivered between noon and 4:00. It arrived before 1:00, so that was nice. The shipping guy said it weighed 400 pounds as he forklifted it to the door. The internet said it weighed 240 pounds unboxed. That was a helluva box.

Keith decided it was best to rent a refrigerator dolly. Hejney Rentals is only a couple blocks away. They got it unboxed and tipped up onto the dolly. Keith said he leaned it against his shoulder from below and ever so slowly took it down the stairs while Alexander steadied it from above. Huzzah!

Tom and Louise came over to help lift it onto the new-from-the-reUse-place table and ta da!

It is MUCH bigger than the old laser. The old one 11×20 bed, this one has a 18×36 bed, plus an automated conveyor allowing 24×60 passthrough. Wow. I look forward to finding out what kind of tricks Alexander can make it do.

It’s immediately obvious that this has to be a really big step up… I don’t even know what the old one did, but I’m sure this one does it better!!!
AND bigger!
