There was flying

Ending the trip at Tokyo Disney Resort was a great idea, not only because it was a bit of a departure from “real” Japan, but because there was a great bus transfer to the airport.

We had unknown amounts left on our IC cards (subway passes) that we could use at 7-11. We assumed we could use both cards and cash together. At the register, we found out we couldn’t. The cashier added some gum to one order to use up more of the money. We ended up with 711 yen – 7-11!

The flight was supposed to be turbulent because of high winds, but it was fine. We watched Anaconda – a pretty funny movie with a number of jump scares I managed not to scream out loud through. John Wick 2 (body count 128) was our dinner movie 🤦‍♀️

I put on an audiobook and got (a little on and off) almost four hours of sleep!! Hoo-rah! My book is about a guy being defended by his wife for murdering his girlfriend – if he didn’t, who did?! – and after listening for 10 minutes while waking up, I think I can just finish it – whatever I slept through was extra.

I got out my new Japanese sitting mat and went to sit by Maren’s driveway until she came home from work. We dropped Mollie at a friend’s, then went to the high school track meet. It was so exciting the first time Liam jumped, I forgot how to use the camera! I said, “He was flying!” There was a lot of that today.
