Funny how when September started, I was like what is happening?! How is it September? And now I just typed September 12 and thought how is it still September? Huh.
We went for a light lunch before we left Benjamin. The pictures on the menu did not make the food look that big. The birria pizza was incredible, I didn’t care for the empanadas, and the nachos were stellar. We were so full and TB had some leftovers for dinner.
We drove home this afternoon. The secret to driving the same road for the gazillionth time is not wanting to get where you are going. If you just think about how great it is to have time in the car, the journey is so much better. You can’t think about what time you are going to get there, even if you know that it is EXACTLY three hours from driving past exit 92 to our driveway. We left Benjamin and visited with Keith’s sister for a bit – it was very nice. We were listening to a book and rolling along when I decided I wanted a nutty bar. It wasn’t an easy thing to figure out. I wanted something, even if I was full from lunch 4 hours ago. I wanted something sweet. A candy bar seemed like too much. Peanut M&Ms would get all eaten by Keith. A DQ cone dipped in chocolate might have been nice. Then I thought of nutty bars. Lo and behold there was a Walmart in 20 miles right off the highway. It was meant to be!
We don’t usually go to Walmart, so I had to wander a little while and look at Halloween decorations. Fun. We got our treat and set off. We shared a two pack. I didn’t need a lot – just something. Ha! I can’t remember ever stopping during the drive for a treat. What fun.
I thought the potd would be the potd, but then we were passing a truck with giant tires. I thought they were amazing. Maybe I should have put them as the potd. Keith suggested they might be tire-shaped hot tubs. It will be extra funny if we ever see tire-shaped hot tubs.
