Whoops

At dinner tonight I told Keith that although I completely enjoyed our recent trips to the theater, I was not interested at all in leaving home tonight. No reason other than complete laziness. We left in plenty of time to get downtown Minneapolis to go to Minnesota Musical Theater’s production of Head Over Heels. We got there and parked in the parking lot, which is a weird place because there are big sections marking parking only for this restaurant or this store. We got our spot and headed into the church.

Which was dark.

Hmmm.

I said I remembered Keith telling me the shows were someone different this year… didn’t I? Apparently yes, because we were supposed to be somewhere else – 11 minutes away – according to the tickets.

Off we went – expecting to be at least 5 minutes late. Oh well. First, we waited for a bus to pull out from a stop, then we waited for slow pedestrians, then there was a car stalled in the turn lane, then we hit every red light. We thought perhaps a train would go past, but it didn’t. We got to the theater 7 minutes and looked for parking. The lot was full. The street was full until it got to the no parking section. We turned around and drove back a block…two blocks…three blocks, over the RR tracks, past some warehouses, another block, then finally found a spot. We pulled in. It was now 7:45. I said I didn’t care if we gave up. Keith struggled with the decision for a minute, then drove us home.

Maren and the kids came over to visit. The kids left together when their phones died. It was hilarious.
