Happy Thanksgiving. I could have started with that, but I didn’t want to forget that Alexander said, “I’d buy a pig named Oblong,” today. We played the game Wavelength where you are given two “opposite” ideas and a distance between the two that you have to get your team to guess with an example. I had pointy animals v round animals and my spot was all the way to round animals. When tasked with choosing the roundest of animals, my mine was blank of all animals. I was able to think “round round round” and nothing else. I finally came up with hippo. I couldn’t think of anything better. The team was immediately debating that pigs were rounder than hippos. Hippos (apparently) are oblong. Alexander piped up from across the room with the sentence of the day. I didn’t get any points for hippo. Later, we had a LENGTHY debate about talent v skill. I believe we figured out that we do not agree about where talent lies in relation to skill. It was a fine couple hours of game play.

Our craft turned out pretty well, for a little while. There was no way (that we cared to figure out) to keep the legs from falling off our Rice Krispie turkey. I didn’t get a picture while it was looking good, but believe that it was for a little while. We all enjoyed the taste.

Our meal was classic. Turkey was not too dry, the corn mush was too dry, the macaroni and cheese was dry, and the potatoes were great. The pies were delicious and plentiful. We have a reasonable amount of leftovers. It was a good day.

I am so thankful Donna and Michael were willing to drive up for the holiday and that they lured Emma and Levi our way. Alexander gave up his friendsgiving for us and we enjoyed having him here. I am thankful for ophthalmologists and medical technology. I am thankful that we worked hard and “moved in” yesterday – we hung up pictures! My list of thankfuls is almost endless – I am so lucky to have so so so many good things and good friends and good family! Thank you all for being in my life!!

Donna dressed as a pilgrim hat because she is the most fun and remembers to do things.

Another fun Thanksgiving at the Thompsons! And much to be thankful for….
