I got almost home from work today when I encountered the birds. There were five consecutive yards on the south side of an east-west street covered in birds. Like a weird number of birds. Like more birds than I have seen on a yard. No birds anywhere else. I thought maybe some tree had dumped great bird snacks or something, but they weren’t even eating – they were just standing there. I tried to get a picture, but it was raining a little and my windows were wet and it turned out lame. I continued on toward home. I saw no more birds for the next three blocks.
When I turned into our cul-de-sac, there were birds. I tried again and took the potd, which does not do justice to the number of birds standing around. They flew as one when I started the garage door opener. Weird.
Keith was reading an article online about trendy baby names. It said that names popular in the 50s were making a comeback with trendy, modern middle names. They gave some examples. Their examples are possibly the worst combinations of names I’ve seen. And…trendy modern? Huh? Which one is the worst? Let us know in the comments!

We went to Tom and Louise’s to pick apples today and then just stayed until they fed us dinner. We haven’t seen them in more than 6 weeks, which is just plain
TOO long!!!! There was a lot of catching up and laughing and being happy to see each other. Win!

June Reverie and Artie Brave are my “winners.” (Although someone I know recently named a little boy “Adonis.”)
Adonis is going to be tough to live up! Artie Brave really is something, isn’t it?
Worst girls- June Reverie
Worst boys-tie between Daniel Taj and Artie Brave.
FYI, there were 4 in my family born in the 50’s and only Jeffrey is on the list for first names.
Barbara was big in the 50s? I don’t think so. All your middle names are “modern” if modern means just pick a word. Artie and June are off to a good start of “winning”
That’s a pretty awful list. I tried putting “Smith” and “Jingleheimer”after each one in case a common surname or a silly one made them better. Neither one helped.
Worst for girls–June Reverie. Surely that should be a painting or a poem or a piano piece, not a name.
Worst for boys–Artie Brave. I can imagine a kid getting in all kinds of trouble trying to live up to that middle name.
Jeffrey Palmer seemed okay, unless his last name is also Palmer.
I tried last names too! Nothing helped. I really think June Reverie should be a piano piece, not a child. I had the exact same response to Jeffrey Palmer Palmer!
