This is Keith tonight. Barbara’s not feeling well.
We went to The Wiz (traveling production) at the Orpheum. I never saw the movie (1978 with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson). Other than the two pop hits, “Ease on Down the Road” and “A Brand New Day”, the music is wholly unmemorable. The cast was very good, there were some excellent murder-by-house one-liners, definitely some singer highlights, and a few good dance things, but all-in-all I thought it was just OK.
Barbara got sick. She started the second half feeling unwell, then left a few minutes early to go out to the car (combination of getting to the colder air as it was pretty darned warm in the theater and getting out of the theater in case she had to throw up [would’ve led to the second throw-up story of the week, I guess]). I stuck around to the end, then lost my coat. When I got up to leave, it was nowhere to be found, so I thought maybe when Barbara picked up her coat, she accidentally got both of ours (as I stepped out in the aisle to let her out). When I got to the car and found her, but not my coat, I was totally surprised. When I let Barbara out, it must’ve fallen down under the seat just right so that I couldn’t see or feel it when I left. Oh, well. It’s an aging coat with a couple tears and some badly aging gloves in the pockets, so I won’t be heart-broken if I have to replace it and didn’t think it was worth the effort to go against the crowd to look for it. We have another show there in a couple weeks (Shucked), so I’ll call the theater tomorrow and maybe they’ll just hold it for me until then if it was found.
When we got home, she went right to bed. I’m hoping that she’s feeling better now and just sleeping it off.

Oh no feel better quickly Barbara.
I slept for 12 hours, then napped for two hours, and I am feeling pretty good. Thank you for your good wishes
Hope you’re feeling better, Barbara… And hope they’ll hold your coat for you, Keith – it may be old, but old coats are also old friends…
Luckily, he also has a back up coat which is super cute. We weren’t able to contact them today, but hopefully soon.
